The GT 455 Black was released back in 2008 and became known as the the distance model the GT Black series - it did this by utilizing a heavier 203g head in order to create the sweet spot and spring effect needed to achieve max distance . The newest GT Black models inherit the bloodline of of older GT Blacks and take performance to a new level by injecting new technology and manufacturing techniques. This allows the new GT Black to achieve improved distance performance with a head weight of only 196g. With the lighter head weight comes the possibility for longer club lengths, an easier to swing club and realization of increased head speed and more overall distance.
MASSIVE SWEET AREA
The new GT 615 Black features a huge expanded sweet area that exceeds all rules of golf in order to produce unmatched ball speeds and spring effect. While it maintains similar performance characteristics and designs of the SLE model, the alpha SPEC takes distance to a whole new level!
HIGH LAUNCH - LOW SPIN
A low center of gravity is achieved with a placement lower than 35mm. The CG matched with our special groove sole design helps create a high launch. This high launch is part of the three elements of distance created by the GT Black, high initial ball speed, high launch and low spin. Maximum distance achieved.
CENTER OF GRAVITY ACCORDING TO SWING TYPE
The GT Black features interchangeable GT Stabilizer Screws which allows each golfer to adjust the center of gravity depending on their swing type or desired trajectory.
HIGHER LAUNCH ANGLE
11 degree loft is also part of the lineup only for this Hi-COR model. Along with the use of the GT Stabilizer Screws, the weight of the head can be decreased allowing for many more setup and fitting possibilities.
WEIGHT POSITION MAP
The characteristics of the head can be changed by repositioning the 8g weight.
Center = Standard
Toe = Suppress over rotation of head ( minimize hook/pull)
Heel = Improve squaring up to ball (increase straight/draw)
